For A Fairer UK: Equality Trust Releases New Manifestos

We are delighted to present our new National, Local and Individual Manifestos designed to help people across the UK take action to reduce inequality.

The National Manifesto is an updated version of the well-received manifesto that we published before the 2017 General Election. It contains practical, achievable policies and we urge people to lobby their MPs to advocate for these policies.

The Local Manifesto is an updating and distillation of the key asks from our Make My Council Fair campaign pack which will allow people to work with their local council or elected Mayor to tackle inequality and poverty where they live.

The Individual Manifesto is a new document produced in response to the question we are often asked – what can I do to tackle inequality? Campaigning against inequality can seem like a daunting task but there are many actions people can take in their own lives that can make a huge difference.

The best – and most enjoyable – way to take action is to join or form a local equality group where you live. Our affiliated local groups do great work tackling inequality across the UK and you can join them. Please get in touch with us at info@equalitytrust.org.uk if you would like to discuss this further. We can support you all the way in setting up a group.

And finally, we are very keen to get your feedback on these manifestos and also very interested to hear what your MPs and councillors think about them. The more information we can obtain, the better we can understand what people and policy-makers think about inequality, the policies to address it and where the barriers to progress might be.

Thank you for your continued support. Inequality is NOT inevitable. Together we can fix it.

Ps: And don’t forget our Activist Pack: Inequality Is Not Inevitable – which is full of practical advice and help on how to tackle inequality.
