Dr Wanda Wyporska will join the Equality Trust as its new Executive Director on Thursday 1st September 2016.

Wanda is currently Lead Equalities Officer at the Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) and previously worked at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and The League Against Cruel Sports. Wanda has studied at the universities of Oxford, London, and Cracow.

Commenting on her appointment, Sean Baine, Chair of the Equality Trust Board, said:

“I am delighted to announce that Wanda is joining us as Executive Director. Her outstanding experience means she is perfectly placed to guide the Equality Trust through a period full of challenges and opportunities.  Wanda will play a key role in delivering our strategy to build a more equal, just and fair society.”

Talking about her appointment, incoming Executive Director of the Equality Trust, Dr Wanda Wyporska said:

The Equality Trust has played a vital role in driving inequality up the political and public agenda over the past seven years and I look forward to continuing to influence policy and public awareness on inequality. Its robust policy solutions have provided a credible path to a more equal society. So it’s little wonder that so many, including the Prime Minster herself, support a reduction in social inequality.

“However, as recent events have shown, the UK remains a deeply divided nation. There has never been a more urgent time for analysis and action to build a more equal society of which we can all be proud.”
