Dr Fran Darlington-Pollock, Chair, The Equality Trust said:

“COVID-19 has illuminated deep chasms in society that The Equality Trust tirelessly campaigns against. It is an honour to take on the role of Chair and support the organisation in its critical work, and I am excited to see what we can achieve in 2021 as the Trust grows.”

Dr. Wanda Wyporska, Executive Director of The Equality Trust, said:

“I’d like to pay tribute to Professor Kate Pickett, for not only being a great Chair, but also for co-founding The Equality Trust. Our work to tackle the scourge that is inequality, is more vital than ever and we are delighted to be expanding the team. At the same time, we are thrilled to welcome Dr Darlington-Pollock, who brings a wealth of experience in research, policy and campaigning.”

Notes to editors

The Equality Trust is the national registered charity that works to improve the quality of life in the UK by reducing social and economic inequalities. UK income inequality is among the highest in the developed world and evidence shows in countries with high levels of such inequality, we also see poorer mental and physical health, higher levels of imprisonment and violent crime, poorer educational outcomes and lower levels of trust. Inequality affects us all. For further comments or to arrange an interview, contact jo.wittams@equalitytrust.org.uk.
